1. Product features: it is a colorless liquid, easy to polymerize and soluble in water, alcohol and ether. It can be quickly oxidized to formic acid in air. It is a strong reducing agent with boiling point of - 19 ℃, freezing point of - 118 ℃ and relative air density of 1.067. Commercial products are supplied in liquid form, known as formalin, which is 37-50% formaldehyde solution with a small amount of methanol as polymerization inhibitor. The solution is milky white with a foul smell. Formalin is easy to vaporize and give off formaldehyde gas. The boiling point is 96 ℃, the relative density is 0.815 / - 20 ℃, and the flash point is 55 ℃.

Purpose: formaldehyde is an aqueous solution with mass concentration of 37 ~ 55%, which is a basic chemical raw material. It has a wide prospect. It is generally prepared by oxidation of methanol. Methanol used to produce formaldehyde accounts for about one third of methanol output in the world. In 1996, the total output of 37% formaldehyde in the world was 19.2 million tons; more than 100 kinds of formaldehyde downstream products have been developed in the world, but there are only more than 10 kinds in China. The main downstream products of formaldehyde are thermosetting resins urea formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin and melamine formaldehyde resin, and chemical products such as polyoxymethylene, pentaerythritol, urotropine, methylal, 1,4-butanediol, pyridine, ethylene glycol, trihydroxymethane and other chemical products. At the same time, formaldehyde can be used as insecticide and reducing agent in agriculture, medicine and dye industry.

3. Storage: store in a well ventilated and dry place. The suitable temperature is 12-25 ℃ and should not be lower than 10 ℃ to avoid polymerization.
